President’s Message:

Perhaps you members grow tired of my continually saying what a great club we have.  Well, no truer words were ever written.  Take a look at our programs.  Any other club in the area have a cruise on their calendar?  Going to the Metropolitan Opera House is another spectacular.  The Richard Strauss music is absolutely unbelievable.  Yes sir, I say it again, we have a great club and the support of you members keeps it that way.  ~ Andy Cincotta

Exercises to keep us in the Running – without Running!
Member, Liz Gioffre, has volunteered to lead us in stay-fit exercise classes, for members only, on Monday’s from 1-2 p.m., at the Center.  There is no charge and no sign-up.  Just show up and bring a mat and a bottle of water.  Don’t go to a fancy spa and buy a mat.  An old, faded, little throw rug you have at home will work fine.  It is mostly used to hold the chair in place while you do your thing.  It is that simple!  Liz will also lead simple yoga.  Her philosophy is, “If it hurts, don’t do it!”  (Wish therapy trainers believed that).

Liz is an athlete and worked with Little League and soccer teams in our borough.  Wear loose fitting clothing, comfortable shoes with a rubber or non-slip sole.  Stretch exercises are one of the features as well as mind calming ones and some to chase stress.  Classes are already in progress.  Note:  No class on Feb. 15 and Feb. 22.

Kitchen Regulations
Charley Cirincion who has been king of our kitchen for many years has decided to give up his throne.  We thank him most heartily for his reign.  Accepting his duties will be Board Member, Ed Tallia and his wife, Dorothy.  They will be the cake cutters and coffee makers.  But, while we are on the kitchen subject, please be advised while they are on duty no one and that means no one is allowed in the kitchen.  Communication with our kitchen police is made through the window.  The kitchen is not a boardwalk to get from one end of the clubroom to the other.

Some Changes Made
Activities Director, Mary Pioli, has announced that some changes have occurred for our Atlantic City trips.  While we are still booking the Tropicana, we will no longer be having lunch at the buffet.  This is good news and bad news.  The good news is that we will now be dining at the elegant and famous, Carmine’s, for a four course served luncheon.  We will also have a 12:00, noon, reservation and hopefully no more waiting on line!  The bad news is that the cost has gone up but a bit more good news, the club is absorbing some of the cost.  Cost for the next outing on, March 24, is $35/Members and $50/Non-members – the guest cost is the actual cost without club subsidiary.  Payment for all activities will be made to Treasurer, Pio Deaminada, instead of Mary Pioli.  Please try and pay by check and pay at meetings or by mail, not on buses or at social events.
